Rajiv Chopra graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Soon after graduating from engineering college, he began his photography journey in Bombay.
Rajiv focused on black-and-white work in the first years of his photography and moved to color photography when he bought his first digital camera, the Nikon D70 when he was in China. He upgraded from the D 70 to the D 200 a year later and then to the Nikon D 810 several years later.
His unique background combining engineering precision with artistic vision brings a distinctive perspective to his teaching at Delhi School of Photography.
